With over 15 years of experience working with diverse pediatric clientele in various settings, Shakeyra is passionate about helping children reach their communication and developmental goals. Shakeyra holds a Master’s in Communication Disorders from the University of South Carolina and has earned the Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is also state licensed in Florida. Shakeyra's approach focuses on evidence-based strategies to treat the whole child, incorporating a family-centered model that can be applied in any setting to ensure lasting success. In addition to her speech-language pathology expertise, Shakeyra is Orton-Gillingham trained, enabling her to provide specialized, structured literacy intervention for children with language-based learning differences such as dyslexia. In her free time, Shakeyra enjoys quality moments with her husband and son. She has a passion for traveling and considers herself a food enthusiast, always eager to explore new restaurants and culinary experiences. Additionally, she enjoys experimenting with different exercise routines to stay active and engaged.
